Starmer’s Digital ID Plan Sparks Millions to Resist
Only three days ago—September 26th, 2025—UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced plans to roll out Digital ID. He tied it to the issue of rising asylum seekers, claiming it would “make it tougher (for immigrants) to work illegally here.”
But the people’s response has been immediate and overwhelming. In just 72 hours, over 2.4 million UK residents—and the number keeps climbing—signed the petition “Do not introduce Digital ID cards” launched by Maxim Sutcliff, which rejects the idea of being forced into a system that strips away privacy and control.

Cybersecurity experts raised their voices to warn that rolling out Digital ID would create a goldmine for hackers, making massive data breaches not just possible, but inevitable.
We need only look to Estonia, in 2021 hackers broke into the state’s Digital ID system and stole more than 280,000 citizens’ identity photos, names, and ID numbers. One breach, and trust in the system collapsed.

This isn’t just about today. It’s about the kind of future we’re handing to our generations to come. Once the infrastructure for Digital ID is in place, there’s no going back. Surveillance expands. Freedoms shrink. And the people lose their power.
